英会話ハロウィーン 2011 / Halloween 2011

Hello, everyone.  How are you doing?  A while back, I posted  a video of trick or treating in America.  In this post, I would like to share a few pictures and a brief description of how we celebrated Halloween at our English school. Please click on a picture below and it will turn into a photo carousel.

Hello everyone. Is not there something unusual? A while ago, I posted an American Halloween video on my blog. This time, I would like to deliver a brief explanation and a brief explanation of some Halloween photos I went in the classroom. Click on the picture below to become a rotary slide holder, you can see it with a big picture.

This year, we didn’t have one party, we had little parties in each kid’s class.  We studied about Halloween and the differences between Halloween in Japan and in Canada.  We also played Halloween bingo in the elementary school classes.  It was vocabulary bingo, so the students could practice their reading while learning Halloween vocabulary.  It was a lot of fun.  In the babies class, they kids did coloring with their mothers.  While coloring, the mothers and I taught the kids colors and Halloween words.  Even when playing in class, we use English.

This year, I did a small party with each kids class instead of having a single Halloween party in the classroom at once. I studied about Halloween and learned about the difference between Japan and Canada’s Halloween. We also played a Halloween Bingo game in elementary school class. Because Halloween Bingo is a vocabulary bingo game, students can practice reading while learning vocabulary about Halloween. It is a very fun game. In the baby class, everyone painted with mama. While coloring, moms and me taught the color names in English and taught the words about Halloween. We also use English when playing during the lesson.

All of the students, even the adults, got some treats if they said “Trick or treat”.  We had a lot of fun, but next year, instead of having a lot of small parties, we will probably have one big event.  I’ll let you know more about that in summer or early fall.

Every student including adults got Treat (sweets) (if you say “Trick or treat” properly …)! It was truly fun. However, next year I am considering making one big event instead of having many small parties. Details will be announced to everyone in summer or early fall next year.

Take care, everyone.

Well then, also!
